Niilo O.B. Hallman was a Finnish pediatrician and neonatologist known for his pioneering research on neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and perinatal medicine, significantly advancing the understanding and treatment of premature infants’ lung conditions. His legacy includes major contributions to neonatal care and medical education, helping to shape modern perinatology and improve infant survival rates worldwide.
