Väinö Hovi was a Finnish physicist who made significant contributions to solid-state, low-temperature, X-ray, and nuclear physics, authoring approximately 100 studies in these fields. He was awarded the Wihuri International Prize jointly with Väinö Hovi and Joonas Kokkonen.
